About a year ago I decided I wanted a scooter for economics and the cool factor. After spending a year looking at the online drop shippers (which I'm still considering) I went to a local dealer here in Pittsburgh. Most of his inventory was from Puma. This was actually the first I had heard of the brand. He gave me a nice little book of their models and I checked out their website. That's the most I've seen of them. I did see a discussion somewhere that offered limited details.
Anyone know what Puma Cycles is all about and if they're solid bikes?
The only other dealers around here sell Hondas and the like. They're just a bit out of my price range as a first-timer. Sent using proboards

Puma is the house brand of Znen one of the larger makers of mid tier bikes. Decent warranty and local representation can make them a good deal.
If you are buying local consider looking into what your local Aprilia dealer has in stock. The leftover 2009 models which they made until 2011 can be quite a bargain where you can find them still available especially since they are financing them at $0 down and 0% interest.

Actually, the guy advertises sym, Aprilla, puma and roketa. He's the only dealer around with the mid tier bikes available. At the time he only had pumas and seemed to really enthusiastic about the brand. I'm not sure if he has all of those brands but I'm hoping so I can look at different ones.
If the bikes are good, I'm heavily considering the jakester 150. Im pretty short and I could easily place my feet on the ground. Sent from my LIFE PLAY using proboards

Yeah, my local guy sells puma as well... Dealer support is everything. Unless you wrench on it yourself, you are gonna need a guy that can do valve adjustments, oil changes, etc.

Yep Puma is Znen. But I can tell you from first hand dealings with their salespeople and tech staff that customer support is first rate. Those folks have bent over backwards to help me out of a jam. Going so far as to remove a part from a display model and sending to me when they did not have it in stock. (try getting that from your local dealer) You could do a lot worst than Puma, but as far as dealer and tech support I can't imagine doing any better.

Any Znen scooter has better quality control as well as upgraded parts, Bando belts, Japanese carbs, better welds, stainless hardware, better fuel lines.

Thanks for the input guys. Anyone know if there's gonna be a problem titling these in Pennsylvania since there was all that trouble with the vins on Chinese scooters. I'll probably talk with the dealer when I actually purchase a bike but a heads up on what I'm dealing with always helps.
