On my Honda motorcycle, I have a battery that's been in there for at least 4 years, if not 8 years, and is almost to it's end. The battery on my ATM50 is now dying, after only 1,5 years, and I wonder which battery would be a good, lasting one, and if they are much more expensive than the cheaper ones?
Or is it possible to add water or acid to the old battery, and get it's performance back up?

The reality is it's the toss of the Dice, you can get a cheap battery that will outlast an expensive one. Also you can get an expensive one that will die in a short period of time. There are only a few companies that make batteries and they make them to the specifications of the retail companies that contract with them. Just like the china scoots and what not, it is all about the money. The only good thing about more expensive batteries is the warranty but there again they PRO-RATE them so you hardly will ever get a REPLACEMENT for NADA. my .02 Alleyoop

I should look into reconditioning a battery. I put a old scooter battery in a HB freight ultrasonic cleaner just for fun, well that battery has giving him no problems! I have done twice and both batteries have plenty of power now!
