I have a 2006 Tank 250 and was wondering if anyone knows what the acceptable Outside diameter of the spring is. I'm seeing everything from 67.5 to 65mm (2.5-2.6") I don't want to order one and it need the other. I assume it has a CF 250 motor based on the vertical cylinder. Thanks, V

You must mean the length of the spring not the diameter, the diameter does not change but the length might just a bit from being compressed so many times over and over. But you can always tell if the spring has lost some of its tension when the belt no longer rides near the edge of the pulley. When the scoot just sitting there not even running you see the belt is down 1/4 of an inch or more from the edge of the pulley you then know your Contra Spring has weakened. Alleyoop

Replaced the contra spring it was a 2.5" diameter spring I just removed it to check and the belt still sits low in the pulley. I guess I'll just order a new clutch because that is my last resort. I bought a new variator with new roller weights a new belt that is the correct size and have checked everything else and replaced the contra spring in the clutch with a stiffer one than stock and my clutch still will not hold my belt tight. This scooter is getting on my nerves I just want to ride it!

What color is the spring you replaced it with. Also how about a picture of the CVT showing the Variator, Clutch and belt. But what seems to be the problem you just mentioned about the spring BUT NOT whatever problem you are having IT MAY not have anything to do with the SPRING. It could be the wrong size belt they do have different belt sizes. If the belt is a little shorter it will pull the Clutch pulley apart and the belt WILL be lower in the Clutch pulley.
What is the belt size you put on there? Alleyoop
