MOXIE SCOOTERS where I got the Kymco has finally listed my old Xingyue "Lil' Bubba" in their pre-owned section...www.moxiescooters.com/product_p/pre-eagle-scooter.htmI know there were a number of members who followed my adventures with much modding, handmade parts and wrenching out all the "Chinese bugs"... LOL! And I finally DID have the little guy running great. It's as good as a Chinese 150 is likely to get. So... If any Texas guys or gals would like to carry on in my tradition, the little guy is ready for a good home. I have no personal interest in selling the scoot, and no affiliation with the dealer. I'm just happy with MOXIE and wanted to put a link here for any interested riders. Ride safe!Leo in Texas

howdy, yeh, leo. like you said no -one believes the pain i put up with just checking the tires. i got the screw out and reamed the hole , then got to thinking with the atheritus in my shoulder i would probably get the plug half way in and get stuck. i rousted my brother who still does tile work for a living and had him get ready while i put the plug strip in the installer and gooped it up and handed it to him to push into the tire. from the grunting and struggling he did, i'm double glad i didn't let my pride get in the way of asking for help. it is holding air and i think it safe to ride to the shop which is about 30 miles away but on somewhat back roads with top speed limit of 55.. i am foolishly considering riding it through the winter with the plug in it and putting new tires on in the spring.---talk me out of it----.there is no noticable wear on the tire though it has 7700 miles on it. should i cut the plug off flush with the tread rubber?
lotsa miles and smiles to ya ken

Handy to have a brother!based on my experience, I could talk you out of it... I did the gooey-plug thing, and five years later it's still holding fine! I would cut the "stem" off flush to avoid "pounding" it inward which might compromise the "goo"... Those plugs DO work well. You just CANNOT use them on sidewalls. A sidewall puncture MANDATES a replacement. For the first several months, I wet the plug area just to check for bubbles, but it never did leak or give any trouble. With constant high-speed running, I don't know, but I have a couple of them in my car tires and they never act up. With a 2-wheeler though, you might want to replace the tire eventually, but I wouldn't worry over the winter. Ride safe!Leo

Ride Safe my friend Alleyoop Alleyoop,Thanks! And due to your good advice on repairs, "Lil' Bubba's" new owner will be getting as good a Chinese 150 as possible! I do have a smile when taking off on the Kymco. It has a lot to do with the satisfying shove in the "seat of the pants" when rolling on the throttle. It's AMAZING what just 100cc extra can do... LOL! Keep the good advice coming!Leo

I don't know WHO, but I know WHY... Back when Taiwan came up with those names... everything "American" was "cool". The "Bet &Win" is sorta self-explanatory... (Especially considering purchase of anything from China was considered a gamble...). The "Yup" had to be the first model aimed at "prosperous" riders... Yup, for "Yuppie" early slang for "Young, Upwardly-Mobile Professional". Then came the Grand Vista (re-named for America) from its original name: "Grand Dink"... Oh, yeah! DINK (Double-Income, No Kids). You just never know WHAT the Asian mind will name something after... LOL! Of course, there's the German VW "Golf". It certainly should have been named "Football"... or maybe "Tennis"! Guess I will quit messing with the ears... She's starting to grow buck-teeth and whiskers! Ride safe,Leo

So maybe B Quiet isn't too horrid. But C Snail? REALLY?? Yeah, I'm sure everyone's lining up to ride a snail. "Oh, my scooter's a Snail." "I'm sorry, maybe your next one will be faster." Did you read the "Unique Selling Points of B Quiet "?-- Vehicle parts / Selling points Headlight / Multi-reflector headlight is not only aesthetic, but also functional. Meter / It is colorful and stylish, with all the desired functions. Front trunk / With the open-type front trunk, you can easily handle your goods. Taillight / It makes your scooter more flamboyant when used at night. Since when is a headlight and tail light unique to a particular scooter? Besides that flamboyant is really what I'm looking for in a tail light.... Thanks for sharing, spandi! >'Kat, glad Leo's not riding a Dink!

Oh well...
What's in a name? And, yeah, I guess I'm riding a "DINK"... That's what they are in the rest of the world. THAT was the ORIGINAL model name... In America though, the "VISTA"... In Canada, the "FROST"... I understand it never got released in Canada though. Probably not enough white ones on hand. Gotta admit the "Snail" is not my first choice either. Somebody in China needs to put me on retainer to name their models! As long as it goes down the road fast and trouble-free, I guess the name is of little importance. And then, there's always decals and spray paint! HeHeHe... Ride safe, if not "flamboyant"... LOL!Leo

You guys are funny.
Let me add one--the Beverly.
Yep, in the rest of the world, my scoot is called a Beverly. Can't imagine why Piaggio changed it here. I can see all you men hopping on their Beverlys. That would sound worse than a Snail. "What are you riding?" "A Beverly." AND it goes downhill from there.
Btb, Leo you are riding a Vista. Might be Dinky in the rest of the world, but here it's a Vista. Anyways, you'll never be Dinky!
>'Kat, being day-flamboyant in bright pink

EEWWW... "Wussy" at least... LOL! I'm sure those are all fine scoots from the Peoples Worker Paradise, but... OH, those NAMES... Time for the decal-remover and spray-paint! The weirdest one I remember from the sixties was an obscure Japanese scooter (possibly made by Fuji) called the "Benevolent Sparrow". Duh... Anyway, here's a revise of the "Italian Panda" graphic for you, with the "proper" Italian brand... Can't have your sig promoting Vespa... LOL! upload pictures onlineI sorta like "Phat Panda" with a moustache... Ride safe,Leo
