If you have to choke it, not enough fuel, check the ENRICHER and or Richen up the Fuel Ratio Screw. Alleyoop

Give me a min to get the pics up: Alleyoop Here is probably what your carb looks like it is a 18mm Carb which most 50s come with. See the fuel Ratio Screw, that is the Screw you TURN COUNTER CLOCKWISE to FEED it more fuel and CLOCKWISE to TAKE AWAY FUEL. To Adjust the carbs Fuel Ratio Mixture follow the procedure I wrote up: itistheride.boards.net/thread/12/4ts-carb-tuningI will put up pictures of the ENRICHER, and how it should look when taken off cold and after the motor has Warmed up for at least 5 minutes. more to come hang in there. Here is the ENRICHER and how it should look TAKEN OFF WHEN COLD: The plunger is RETRACTED in this position it FEEDS extra Fuel for Starting COLD MOTORS. It will EXTEND out after the motor starts and CUTS off the EXTRA fuel within 3-5 minutes of motor running. So when you take if off and it is EXTENDED then you need a NEW ENRICHER: ENRICHER RETRACTED FEEDS EXTRA FUEL: ENRICHER EXTENDED CUTS OFF EXTRA FUEL:

I was just going to say that, a 150 carb is 24mm which is WAY TO BIG for a 50 even with a BBK on it. No wonder your having problems. People think DUMP A GALLON OF FUEL down the throat and it will take off like a ROCKET(haha). Young people now a days do not know much of how motors works and fall for all the Dealers selling SO CALLED performance parts. The thing is you can mod a scoot but you have to know how a motor works and what it needs to produce at its best. Same with the CVTs a good tuned CVT can give you up to 5 more mph at top end. Put the old 18mm carb back on and change the MAIN JET in it, try the # Main jet and adjust the carb. Give that a shot, You may need a # or #92 it all depends on the motor, all motors run different and require a tweak here and there to get them to run at their best and reliable. When you put in a BBK on any motor it is Trial and Error you can come close and or maybe hit it right on the head the first attempt with the fuel and air amounts. Alleyoop

I ran a 24mm carb on all my 50s but you need to have at least a 50mm big bore kit open air filter exhaust and a big valve head it works and works well but not without these mods get a 18 to 20mm carb

I ran a 35 pilot and a 107 main it won't work without the big valve head uni and exhaust no need for the bigger carb with out a ported big valve head and 50mm and above kit
