"If you are a moped operator, you must follow the same traffic rules as other motor vehicle operators. A moped is a two- or three-wheeled vehicle with a motor not exceeding 100cc engine displacement. The moped must have a power drive system that does not require shifting gears and cannot have a top speed exceeding 30 mph on level surfaces." click here for the urlI dont see 2hp, but still up to 100cc but top end less than 30.

It just goes to show that the politicians who write the laws are often clueless as to the subject matter to which the law is applicable.

Yes I thought it was a typo when I saw 100cc..2bhp and 30mph or less? Just shows Law Makers will pass a Bill they know nothing about. The kicker is that if you are 16 you can ride a 140+ capable Crotch Rocket with no helmet..BUT if you are 19 or less you need a helmet for a Moped/Scooter. Say what?

If you geared a 100cc scooter to go no faster then 30 mph you would be able to keep the front wheel on the ground.
