I hate these black stock grips. Id like to replace them with something better.
Better yet, some kind of overlay that can be placed around the existing grips??

You can find grips cheat in eBay and amazon. I use amazon when I can so I don't have to deal with paypal.

I looked for a basic tutorial awhile back but never found one. Racing Planet USA has some really stylish looking grips. I thought about ordering a pair from there, I'm not real big on the stock grips either. Most of the ones I've seen are more "universal" rather than a simple, perhaps more stylish replacement that has the notch for the throttle cable already.

I bought a set like this on Ebay. I like them. Hard rubber. Nice swell in the middle that's comfortable to hold. The silver cap on the end is sort of cheap but no biggy. Changing out the throttle side is easy. You just open up the switch housing so you can pull the grip out a bit, unclip the throttle cable, and the grip assembly slides right off. The left side is more challenging. They're usually glued on. Do whatever you have to do to get the old one off and then clean up the handlebar. Apply a little contact cement to the bar and the grip and then quickly push and twist until it's where you want it. Then just let is set for a while before you ride it. Easy peasy.

Never used glue , only hair spray ....a little squirt in the grip and slide it on , it will stay there until you want to remove it again.

Neat trick with the hair spray, I'll try that one.

The smell on the stock grips will reduce; and the residue it leaves on your hands as well. Personally, I always wear gloves on my scoots. The first thing you usually do when falling, is reach down with the hands, and when in motion, even slow, the hands could get some serious cuts, or skin burns.

If your grips are too tight to push on, put a drop of dish detergent on the edge just inside the grips and roll it around. This will allow it to slip on much easier. Don't use more than a drop, or they may slide back off too easily. I've been using this trick on bicycle grips for years.

My right grip is all chewed up from having to temporarily rig up the throttle cable on the grip when the cable breaks up top. Had to 3 times. Lol.

I bought a set like this on Ebay. When I did a search on ebay and amazon a few months back, I couldn't find a style that I liked except for a few pairs of R6, I think theyre for a yamaha motorcycle, but I liked the transparent R6 on the grip. Wish fox racing made grips with their logo transparent on a grip, I'd buy it. I second someone would make a short tutorial on changing grips.
