Go with a hoca set I've done 16/50 several times and did a hoca 18/46 and it was an improvement over the 16/50

Mill, do you have a link to the site you bought your hoca 18/46 gears. I'm doing everything from my phone because my hard drive crashed and when I google (hoca 18/46) I get a add from eBay and your thread you did on the gears.
Thanks. PCB

Just ordered the hoca 18/46 gears. Really don't need them because I can run the speed limit on the beach road easy already. I figure why settle though. This will put me at 4 up and 5 down over stock and 3 up and 4 down over the scrappy gears. Hoping my bbk has enough power to pull them but if not I'll be ordering the big valve head from scrappy and adding a performance exhaust to max out the top end of this little 50cc motor. Plan on shopping for a variator and weights this week as well. Trying to get to 50+ mph gps.

Did you need a press? some videos and sites say you just take out the old gears and pop in the new ones. Some say you need a press.
Looking into changing my gearing as well.

I ran the hoca set with an airsal and a custom made 39mm combustion chamber big valve head made by Buford and a 24mm carb I suggest getting a hold of Buford send him your stock head have him port it and put in big valves makes a big difference in power

When I went to get mine done in stopped by a little shop and the lady told me that it would be 25 cash to the manager in back. I ask if I could pay with my card like everyone else and she told me It would be more if I did that. I was on my way home and spotted the boat shop and the guy ask for 5 dollars. I paid 10 because he wasn't trying to rip me off. I have spare motor I use for parts that I will be pulling for the gear. This way I'll have the 16/50 and the 18/46 gears ready to change out at anytime without needing a press anymore.
