I shake the nozzle at the pump that leftover gas goes everywhere but in my tank . As far as waiting for the nozzle to click off on it own , if I do that gas down the panels . The vespa is the worst of the bunch , I know a fill up is 1.8 gal so I gas fast to 1.5 then go as slow as I can and it still spills in the seat bucket . The center bar in the tank on the Chinese I think it might be for structure so I can live with it to air on the side of safety .

Yeah, I have to find a pair of good pliers, I know there is one somewhere lying around. Thanks for the link, and yes, I did not have that bar. It was kind of like this; thumbs3.ebaystatic.com/d/l225/m/mYUV0GW9W77VW0pgf6bK9og.jpg, but wasn't so firm in place like the one in this pic and had holes and spaces around it. It was like an extra funnel layer. I will get those pliers later and rip that sucker off.

You can just make one cut in the middle of it with a pair of tin snips and then bend the two pieces back. Two minute job.

I was going to cut and fold the ends away, but the metal was very easy to bend and break with pliers alone.

I have a 3 gallon tank. It rarely spews over on my scooter. I used to fill it all the way and had some spew over, but went to under filling a tad to stop from the spewing effect.. It doesn't spew over with near empty, because with a 3 gallon tank it holds more. The spewing over only occurs if I get it to full.

If I had a small pile of cash, I could take a vacation, drive out to Virginia for the gt300, then down to Ashville to visit the GF's sister, then down to Tail of the Dragon, and then home = 2200 miles round trip. 6-ish tanks of gas, a hotel or two... Wishful thinking! The Kymco GT300i on ebay sold this morning, with 3 seconds to go the only bid was posted. $2k. Someone got a steal.

Thanks for all the tips and contributions from all the members in this thread. It's because of all the tips I have found a simple work around for my fuel sensor problem until I find time to fix it. Although I didnt have the t-bar thing, I had something similar. Its been about 12 days since bent the extra funnel layer. I now just sway my bike and listen for gas, and since I bent the funnel I can now see inside the tank pretty clearly and see the gas inside. So I still had gas, but on the way home I finally tried out the gas station nozzle without the funnel that was blocking the way. It started with gas on my bike again BUT, only because of the last person's excess gas left. It must have been a little under an ounce. I only got a dollar of gas and shortly the gas flows slower like someone suggested. So it was a perfect fill today and am grateful, cause I don't think that I would have tried to alter something that was in the gas tank like that, and who knows how long that situation would have gone on.
