I got it today, and installed it. Ebay seller swore to me that this is the right CDI for my scooter. Started it up, and ran good. But when I went to shut her off, she remained running??? I turned the key off, hit the kill switch, even pulled the ket out the ignition, and nadda! I did the Pin#6 voltage test (no 12v to pin #6), to even see that I needed an AC CDI. Would this mean that the seller sold me a DC one instead? I do not get 12v on pin #6 when I turn the key to "on".
thoughts?

WHAT DID YOU GET??? a Link would help but if it won't shut off then it most likely is a DC CDI that does not have a ground to kill the CDI. A DC CDI is shut off when you cut off the 12V POWER to it. Alleyoop

The one that says IT WAS SOLD?? Ah man that sure looks like a DC CDI to me bigger as well as SQUARED off plugs. And the price WOW!! RED FLAGS should have popped into your head when he said ONLY USED FOR 6 HOURS!!!! Alleyoop

Well, the seller's a stand-up guy. He called and we spoke over the phone the other day, askin him questions, etc. He'll come through and do the right thing. I've already sent him an email regarding this. He has a few other CDIs for sale. He stated that if this one isn't what's right for me, he'll trade it in for another and credit me the difference.

I like how he listed it as "new-other" meaning "A new, UNUSED item with absolutely no signs of wear..." (emphasis mine) So if it's new unused, how was it used for six hours? But at least it sounds like he's an honest guy. Hopefully he has the right part for you! >'Kat

Thx. Yeah, he's got a few aftermarket DC CDI's available, too. I somewhat blame myself for jumping the gun and buying an adjustable priced too good to be true. lol
