Well I'm not defending the officer, but not often do you see a scooter designed for 25 or 30 mph, doing nearly double that speed, and exceeding the posted speed limit for cars, trucks and motorcycles... Can't blame him for being curious really..
Well it's all over and water under the bridge now...

It's cool the cop let you off with a warning...  Here we plate 50cc's even but you can run 'em as hard as you like... as long as you follow the speed limits (or not, I keep up with speeding traffic on my 150cc. My little 150 does cruise at 50mph (gps) and all out at 58 (speedo says like 70 or something totally outrageous).. As long as you ride with traffic and don't act like an idiot, they leave us alone. and of course splitting lanes in california is legal although I haven't had the rocks to do in front of a cop. |

I just moved from bburg indy to san clemente and I can say that traffic on the main roads scares the crap outa me. I feel safer on the 5 than on the main drag.
Never had any trouble with cops in indy I had my razz plated and both kymcos plated to. the kymcos were fast the razz not so much but after getting hit by a illegal I wanted my butt covered. Cali is cool just got me a burgman and its mad fast but I still want a 50cc to play with.

I am self taught big bike rider but I get strange looks when i have my walker straped to the back of the bergy.

400 stole it from my roommate  hehe I am still trying to find a way to carry my paddle board to state beach on it. he is half blind and can no ride it but still thinks he can drive a car.  kinda scary but I guess cali will let anyone drive they let me. |

Well it finally happened, I got pulled over last night on my way home from work. Cop said he clocked Fawkes doing 48 mph in a 45 MPH zone... Let me go with a verbal warning. The first thing the cop said to me besides good evening was "What you got in that thing". It was funny as Fawkes is registered as a motorcycle, he is plated and Insured, and I have my MC's now.. So other than speeding I was completely legal, he had just never seen a small scooter like Fawkes go so fast... Guess Id better slow down.. |
