Hey Dawgs,
Been Months since I have been on, I see the site has been moved. Anyway hello to all:
I own a Linhai 300 and I am from East Tennessee but over the last several weeks I have moved to Alabaster Al., just south of Birmingham. I am a Big Tennessee Volunteer fan and let me tell ya, I Do Not See Orange down here ha ha. I feel as if I need to add a bit of Orange here so I thought of my scoot.
I have considered as a tribute to my faithfulness of cheering for my Vols that I would paint my Linhai White and accent it with some Tennessee window decals. My question is this:
Would anyone know if those vinyl decals work, I plan to have the scoot painted by someone and then have them apply the vinyl decals and then apply the clearcoat.
Has anyone here attempted such a thing and if so would this work? Any ideas or advice would be greatly appreciated. Also would anyone know where I could possibly locate vinyl pinstriping or designs?
Thanks, chuckb1448

Dont clear it , and wait atleast 30 days after it's painted before applying the decals , just incase you apply the decal and have to move it , you would probably pull the paint with it .

Well, I also considered what you posted and do not put the vinyl under the clear and just add them after the fact. I do not plan on selling the scoot but if I ever did it may be hard to find a Vol fan down here:)
I would like to find the checkerboard from the end zone but am not exactly sure where to look. I will check..
Do any of the Dawgs here add the vinyl decals to their scoot and if so how do they hold up, I would assume they would hold just as well as if they were on glass?
Thanks........

Mine are fine. Put a little clear nail polish on any fine edges to hold them down.

Hi Big Groovy,
That's cool, maybe we can hook up sometime and ride. I am at this point hesitant to hop onto I-65 ha ha but the back roads here seem fine.
I appreciate the info. for the scoot paint, would anyone know if plastic needs a special paint?

I hand-cut these a year and a half ago from vinyl. They are holding up very well.

I am going to try carbon fiber vinyl wrap on my motorcycle gas tank. Also thinking about chrome vinyl wrapping at least the top of my van. It sure does collect the heat in the sun! In the meantime, dude at work wanted his rims on his new car a different color, but the dealer option was like $3000 or something crazy. He used this stuff: www.dipyourcar.com/home.phpSays it is durable, and wont come off until you want it to come off.
