So ive done 2 bbk's and a head swap and never payed attention to the different valve lengths. Never had any problems.
My question is why the different lengths?
Does it effect performance?
If I were to use 69mm in and engine that came stock with 64mm it would hit the piston and bend right?
What if it were the other way around?

No real differance they use differant rockers on each and wont hit the piston

[replyingto=jjoshua20213]jjoshua20213[/replyingto]My stock head had 69mm valves and my new head has the shorter valves. I've noticed that it's slightly more difficult to get a feeler gauge in underneath the tappet on the shorter valves, the top edge of the head gets in the way a little bit. Nothing major of course. Most newer scoots seem to have the 69mm valves, maybe they started to do that to make a valve adjustment easier.

The reason for the shorter valves is probably cost less. Less material

I think they just do it, just to make things more confusing, if nothing else. ALOHAz
