Does this guy seriously think anyone'll trade? Or is he delusional? (link to actual ad-- kansascity.craigslist.org/mcy/4049107821.html ) If your looking for that new bike without the new bike price, HERE IT IS. Up for trade is my 2006 Honda VTX 1300C. The bike has only 23xx miles on it. Practically a brand new bike. The bike is beautiful and runs better than it looks. This bike has never felt the curbs or been laid over. Fair trades only. NADA average retail price is $6328.00. Kelly Blue Book is value is $5400 (based on 24,000 miles). The bike has aftermarket saddle bags ($250), sissy bar ($200), Wind shield ($300), Cruse control ($200), mirrors ($60) and handle grips ($75). I will also add in the battery charger ($100). I am interested in a BMW, Audi, Cadillac, Mercedes, etc. also other trades. Don't miss this. I do not need to sell. I am just looking for something different. I found out I'm not a Motorcycle system. I am only interested in a straight across trade, no money either way!!! I prefer text but will respond to email if the word toy is in subject line. send a photos of possible trades. Thanks for looking. 816-6 four 6-5 three 45. Lets Make a Deal! And I've got a bicycle I'll trade for a Jag. It's the "straight across trade, no money either way" that really makes me wonder. I mean, I can see "I'm not looking to pay anything extra" but to not accept cash plus a trade sounds hinky to me. Plus maybe I'm blind, but where's the $200 sissy bar? >'Kat

The sissy bar could be in the garage, but who wouldn't want cash in hand? Maybe he feels that he can get a higher value of trade, or just more response to the ad. I doubt he would turn down a straight cash offer.

yeah, howdy. if it was me, i would not mind if the offer included the other party paying the license and title transfer fees? maybe he figures he'll find someone wanting a cotorcycle that has no cash and willing to trade that 10,00 buck jag for a chance to ride a scooter---
lotsa miles and smiles to ya ken

My neighbor got his 2001 shadow sissy bar installed (in 2010), for something around $400 total, at the Honda dealer.
Why does this seller compare KBB @ 24,000 if his bike has only 2300 miles?

steve, good point. I missed that one. Guess I was stuck on a Caddy etc owner wanting to trade down.
ken, it's me willing to trade my pedal (read no motor) bicycle for a Jag. Esp a Jag-wag. Think I'll get any takers if I post a similar ad on CL? ;D
nova, I didn't think of removing the bar.
Nor did I think of calling a 2006 bike "new". Does that make my 2005 scoot with 2600-some miles new, too? Meanwhile, I'm not touching the "not a motorcycle SYSTEM" comment. Just makes my brain melt out my ears.
