i got a big valve head i want to try that i got yesterday the bike has a 50mm piston and a 20mm carb with mj jet now and all the extras like muffler cdi coil and etc the intake on head has not been ported out any bigger just big valves what mj should i go to with this head the valve sizes are intake 23mm and ex 20mm

I wouldnt think larger than a #92 but try your # and see if it runs lean first... Do you have a high flow air filter? High flow exhaust?

yea free flow air filter and muffler every performance part u can get is on there now just looking for that right head so i know its doing all it will do

bigger valves need proper porting or you are not getting everything out of it that you can.....it's all about the air flow....

yea the intake is lil bigger than a stock 50cc head looks like i will have to trim the spacer to match cause it blocks lil bit of the intake hole

i thought about porting it out to match a 150 intake and using a stock 150 carb but not sure the best way to go about it

i have another question on a brand new head if you fill the intake and ex port with gas should u see any seeping from around the valves if so will this wear in a stop or is it because the valves were not lapped correctly

take the head in a dark room and shine a small flash light in the ports..if you see light coming out the valves then its a leaker....

well when i put gas in the ports i see a very small seeping from around intake and the ex valve its not like running out its just seeping will this seal up if installed and run after it gets hot or is it just gonna get worse

maybe if they are soft seat..i would just lap them. you dont want no leaks..i never leave a head go out of my shop no matter how much it's leaking.....

i have watched u tubes on how to lap valves but just never did it my self maybe i try on a old head first

well its on a bike that belongs to one of the guys that i do all his work. this is the last upgrade he can do. he already running over 50mph gps with a propell big body 50 i dont know why he wants more but hay it pays the bills
