My brother put his BBK on his vip 50 the other day, it came with an A9 cam. He put them side by side and measured them both, and the stock cam and the A9 came are both the same. Now hes really pissed cause he has to buy another cam, maybe an A10 or 12 or something. This is not the first time that I have heard or read about the A9 cam. Other people have even mentioned that in fact, they are the same cams. Kinda like the Orange so called "performance coils" are just the stock coils just made Orange from the factory in China.
Maybe I could paint my stock parts a different color, and call it aftermarket and Performance, and sell them on eBay and mark the price up 30% more!!!

Although the cams may appear the same to the naked eye, they are not. a whole thread was just written on this. Go to the garage area 50cc-200cc air cooled, jump to page 3 go to a9 cam,see what carasdas posted there. he did the actual measurements on the cams

[replyingto=doublert]doublert[/replyingto]Okay, I just read that from the garage on page 3 about the cam. I didnt look at the cams side by side, but was going by what my brother told me. Apparently you cant just eye-ball the cams and see the difference. I feel like a frick'in IDIOT! (Napoleon Dynamite). Well at least we know there is a difference than stock. I think everyone should read what carasdad posted.

Yeah the any machined parts like that- cams, cranks, etc can only be tested or measured with an outside micrometer. The differences are thousanths of an inch- definately not noticable to the naked eye. =) The A9 cam lobes open just a hair more, and not only that but more importantly at different times and for a longer time. This allows for more air to get in at higher rpms.
