No, this isn't the online dealer doing this. I don't bother dealing with them because they screwed me over on a BBK upgrade on my first bike. Terrible cust svc, mechanics, etc. That's why they went 'online only', cause they suck. No, this is the 'only shop in town.' Guess you are the only one, you can treat customers anyway you see fit. Here's another funny one. The guy I spoke with said he wouldn't take my bike on trade because it was imported from the States. Guess there is some internal policy on that. I told him, "That's funny, cause the previous owner bought it here." He didn't believe me until I showed him the original bill of sale. He back tracked, made up more fancy excuses. By that time I was done with it. I third the trip to Vancouver. Thanks for the link Rocky. I'll look into it. btw, does this seem to good to be true? www.usedvictoria.com/classified-ad/2013-Honda-PCX-150cc-Scooter-Black_20444077

That sure is one very nice looking bike! And doesn't sound too good--it's just a bit off new price, minus taxes etc. I'd call him fast and get out there tom to check it out!
And mondo-sweet talk your wife for the little bit extra over your original budget. And promise her the next big purchase.

Yep, workin' on the sweet talk as we speak. If I can get it for $3k I think I'll be happy. I've been in touch with him and he's offended by what the dealer is offering to take it back. Hopefully I can sneak in there.
Problem we face on the island is 'used' scooters seem to go for premium here.

The 150cc engine i ordered a couple yrs ago sasy 139 qmb on the side and 50cc on the valve cover lol. I think it says this because of import regulations. They were imported as 50cc and sold as 150cc . Everything checked out as a 150cc so i didnt complain.

FTR- I have a 50cc bigbored to a 72cc ("80cc" bbk). It is plenty for me- I weight 180lbs and can ride 40 uphill no problem. I live at the beach and the hills arent mountains, but before the bbk install the hills I'm referring to would bog me down to about 25 going up. I went the whole 9 yards and upjetted my carb, installed proper rollers (sliders) and a contra spring to match. Also a high flow air filter topped it off. It may be that a 2 stroke is good for you... Keeyway makes a 50cc 2 stroke that runs ~50mph bone stock and gets there in a hurry. If I was gonna shell out $2000 on a bike it would most likely be a 125 or 150 though. In my area (NC, USA) You can drive a 50cc on the roads without license, tags or insurance and the cheap factor is the reason I ride my small bike. If I thought I could get away with a 150 I would but instead I just upgraded mine as best I could. As far as parts are concerned- if your motor is a gy6 - 139qmb then all parts are easy to find for that bike. Ebay- it's the way to go and MUCH cheaper than any local dealer around here (who would just order online anyway). Hope that helps...

So Indy, did you succeed in talking down the Honda owner (and talking up your budget)? Or did you end up driving something else? What's the ending to your scooter-search story?
