Earl,
It is possible I might be in the Dallas area during the week, depends on what happens. I have cousins around there, Grapevine, North Lake Dallas, Mesquite, Garland.

Keep coming East on I20. I'm about 30 minutes from the Louisiana border... If you ever make it out this far, I'll take you out for some good Mexican food... (You probably have a lot better than what we have, it's kind of a dead zone for good Mexican restaurants here). I can take you to an excellent country-style buffet though! All you can eat chicken fried steak and bread pudding for dessert!

Aw man, if only you'd thought of that sooner, Doug! Too late to get time off for a road trip. Plus I don't think the sushis would enjoy it. Have a safe trip, and a great time with your folks! >'Kat What? Never say never!!! Now if we can get old Doug to ease a little east to Ft. Smith then you can drop down old US 71 south from KC. Oh Doug! Ft. Smith is right on Int40! JR

I might make it out there someday.

Drove 800 miles today, laying down in a motel now. I will finish the drive tomorrow.

Thanks to both of you. I feel guilty about not being more available to help them out. Then they are the ones that moved away after Dad retired.
I am there now, we had a nice visit and it is time to hit the hay.

Doug, you can't feel guilty about that. My Dad did the same, moved to Alb (where they have zero family, go figure that one out). I haven't seen him for a couple years now. I feel bad but I can't do anything about that. I do email him every week (or more often even) and keep in touch. And whenever he mentions looking into future retirement facilities, I remind him we've got good ones here and I can then visit every week instead of just emailing.
Glad you're all having a nice visit.
