My mc 54 250b has had an extended engine crank time since it was new. You have to crank it 45- 60 seconds before any fuel gets to the carb. Then it will fire stumble and fart for 10 seconds, then it will idle if you hold the throttle a little open for 30 seconds, then it idles and runs fine.
That is unless you start it daily. Then it cranks in 2 seconds and will idle, take off and ride if you want to. I replaced all the fuel lines, fuel pump (2x) and fuel filter. Has anyone seen this problem. I am afraid I will kill the cheap starter.

How far away is the FUEL FILTER from the CARB? Put the Fuel Filter about 1 foot away from the carb. Usually on the 250s they put them along side the bottom rail about 3 feet or more from the carb. The gas will drain down up to the filter after sitting a while. So now it has to pump it past the filter and up to the carb to get it primed again. Alleyoop
