scooter has big bore kit in it, ran good when done work,scooter sat for 3-4 months ,now want start. where do i start to get to run  ?? |

Replace the fuel, clean the carb, check spark, it should go...

Di u have the battery on trickle charge during the 3-4 months ? If not thats prob your problem. After sitting that long the battery may turn the scoot over but will or may not be enough to actually start it. Even if you charge the battery after the batt is prob bad because of sitting so long. These scoot batts are not meant to sitt for long periods. Try jumping with a car and see i it starts.

I hate to even mention it... BUT... Did you accidentally engage the kill-switch by raising the seat against the dash? I've done that! Also, could your SIDE STAND possibly be partially down. I've also done THAT. If it's down any, the side-stand "safety switch" may disable your spark. Something to check, anyway...

well guys , put new fuel in, new plug , cleaned carb. i have to hand choke and to get to start , then leave my hand over carb to keep it running , will not idle, think barb still clogged |

sounds like the pilot jet is still clogged

Check the enrichener to be sure it is functioning. Sounds like the cold start mechanism isn't functioning. Are all the wires still hooked up to the carb... There is a thread around explaining how to check this...

will recheck that jet, one the enrichener dont know if its working but its real hot !!!

Pull it out when cold and make sure it is not already fully extended. Basically pull it out, turn on key, and watch to see it actually moves...

thanks for all the help !!!!!! I put new gas in , new plug and checked carb. to find that pilot jet was stopped up. i want to get new jets to put in . can someone tell me what jets to get plus a need a new starter does someone have a good brand that i should go with. on the jets i have a big bore kit put in 80cc with after market air filter. so what jets do i need pilot jet and main jet |
