I have two scooters have the same external look, but each use a different stator-system: (1) AC/8-Pole, and (2) DC/12-Pole.
I would like to be able to swap engine/transmission/rear-rim/muffler between the two of them, without having to swap the Stator & Flywheel everytime. I don't mind swapping the CDIs.
What kind of wiring changes would it be needed for: 1. Re-wiring from AC/8-Pole to DC/12-Pole, and 2. Vice-Versa, re-wiring from DC/12-Pole to AC/8-Pole.
Once I understand the basics, only then will I worry about how to feed the accessory lighting (battery-fed on DC-Stator vs generator-fed on AC-Stators).
Thanks.

Well some stators do produce AC power while others produce DC power which is what I too would like to do. However I think both of your scooters are AC. Does it keep running if you unhook the battery? Then it's probably AC.
