Or a lawn mower ignition coil. Maybe even a car? . could this work?. I have no spark and feel there is a good chance it is the ignition cable. Thanks. Sorry if this is a dumb question hah.

On most lawn mowers the igition coil is unified with the ignition pickup all getting mounted beside the flywheel which is a bit different than whats on your scooter which has the pickup and coil as two seperate parts. Verify the fuses first and track the route of the power to verify that it is getting to the CDI and coil before you go too crazy with the Frankenbike mods.
Also check that the spark plug boot is screwed all the way onto the spark plug wire. A good number of no spark problems are resolved by simply screwing the loose boot back onto the wire. Many don't realize that it has a screw that goes into the center of the cable to both hold it in place and make the connection with the center lead in the wire.
The scooter coil, ignition pickup and CDI are pretty cheap compared to automotive or lawnmower parts so there is not really anything to save there.
