I was checking over my fuelly reports and realized I've tracked (gone) 2,300 miles for under $100. I had to brag on FB so I said, "Don't hate me because I'm scooterful."

Haven't kept track with fuelly, but on my TaoTao ATM50, I've used ~$17 on fuel, for 1724miles (2800km's). I can't believe it myself, that's more than 170km (or 105mi) per dollar!

105 miles per dollar, that's like 375 mpg. You sure that's right?

dah, I meant per gallon, so that's div by 4.
Don't know if fuelly is correct with $16, I've spent a lot more on gas on my tao.

What a gallon worth out there for you guys? And when would you be "up in arms" about petrol prices?

We should already be up in arms....all our money is going overseas.....But,....$6/gal. According to google £1=$1.5, so you're at about £4 a gallon by my calculations. We're at £7 a gallon, or 10.5 of your lovely American dollars. I'll just do some quick maths: I've done twelve shifts in my new job, at a gallon a day, so I've spent £ ($126) on petrol in three weeks (and that's just for work, I'm not counting all the little trips). There's ~5 litres in a gallon, so about £1.4 ($2.1) a litre, and only £0.4 ($0.6) of that is actually for fuel, the rest is tax. So we'll call it two thirds. I've paid £56 ($82) in tax, just getting to work. Up in arms yet?! Lol I'm so jealous of you guys. Ian.

I look at it this way - In the 14,000 miles of riding my Aprilia 250 after counting for gas, maintainence, insurance, taxes and riding gear I have saved $11,156.79 over driveing my old van.
Gas/Petrol here for premium just dropped to below $4.00 per US gallon this past week where it had gone up to almost $4.20 prior to that. It was costing me almost $9.00 every 10 days when fuel got up that high.

Gas may be a fuel of the past in 40 years but we'll still be tryin' to figure out ways to save. Mega Kilowatt extender bridge bypasses. Maybe.

In the future I believe there will be hybrid scooters, half gasoline (like with a 50cc engine), and an electric motor. Not like the current ones with moped HUB that only goes 35, but something with a powerful electric engine for engine braking and extra torque. A ~1500W motor is about as powerful as a 50cc engine, so pair it with a 50cc engine, and you got a nice city ride! Pair it with a BBK 75cc, and you got something that could compare to a 150cc, with the gas mileage of a 50cc.
