Stock was 32. Happened to have a 35 and installed it,runs good but when adjusting AF screw after turning it all the way in its best setting seems to be only 3/4 turn where the stock 32 needed almost 3.5 turns. So its obviously richer but can i keep the 35 or should i try a 33?

49cc or BBK . Does it have starting or idle issues ? My 2T had a 40 IJ and I would have to give it a sip of throttle to start it and sometimes it would idle then die and I always had to adjust the idle speed as seasons changed . I now have a BBK , Uni and unrestricted pipe . I kept the 40 in it as they are hard to find for a TK carb where main jets are common . It would sometimes want to stall just before stopping at times . I now have a 45 IJ and it has every since started with no throttle even after sitting up for 3 weeks and idles as long as I allow it to . The small jets are well known for needing be cleaned every so often and if it was stored for a long time one would want to drain the fuel tank , carb bowl and remove the jets in order to clean by hand with carb cleaning spray or a stiff solid wire .
When jetting it is a lot of trial and error and retesting . There is no exact formula as conditions like altitude , climate and quality of gas play a factor in how it runs . Most jet kits only have MJs but a few include some IJs aka pilot jets too

[replyingto=skuttadawg]skuttadawg[/replyingto]Hmmm,,mine does that when its cold,,it needs throttle to stay running for a few seconds till the en-richer kicks in...do you think a bigger pilot will help also,,its still stock but I have some light mods intake/exhaust.
When its hot it fires right up,no throttle at all,,BOOM!!

Mine would idle high when could for 2 minutes the idle down and would stall if left idling for long .
From Scootertronics website We have found number 21 series in 35 as to be a stock jet size in most GY6 carbs. By taking this up to 45 in our shop we have elminated problems with idle and midrange. Your pilot jet is used in half your throttle range at least with main kicking in at full throttle. Because the pilot is smaller it gets clogged even more easily than main.
When having gas flow problems in our shop we simply replace idle and main as well as air filter, gas lines, gas fliter, fuel valve and by doing this we have reduced future problems plus upgraded the fuel and air flow which greatly increases performance

[replyingto=skuttadawg]skuttadawg[/replyingto]I have no decel popping and it runs pretty good,,I plan on installing a 60mm BBK soon,,so I will probably have to get a bigger pilot and main.
