Just a quick question,, I have a chrome CVT cover that is a bit faded and blotchy so I want to paint it.Im thinking to get a friend to glass bead it,,then I can sand it with 400 grit or so,,then use etching primer...
My question is can i use a regular paint or does it have to be High Temp,,these covers get pretty hot I noticed,,the spray bomb I have says the paint is good up to 200 degrees,,but I dont want it to blister off.
Thanks guys!

I used engine enamel on mine, then used clear engine spray paint in place of clear coat.

I blasted mine with Aluminum Oxide abrasive because the chrome was so bad it was flaky and nasty. Took some effort but I was able to strip it right back to the aluminum casting. Then silver wheel paint from a spray can and then clear coat over top. Looks much better now.
