Hey there everyone, I bought a used 08 Chuanl LB150T-12 with 2500 miles on it about two months ago. Got my M Class lisence yesterday so I am ready to start riding it around the neighborhood for practice before I hit the main roads. However, I noticed there is an oil leak. I've never worked on an engine before but I don't mind taking on the challenge. I read about cleaning the motor, to try and find where the oil leak is but I thought u would jump on here first for any advice. Any one have any suggestions or help on where to begin??

Clean the motor like you were told, then check oil level, then start the motor to find where the oil is coming from.

To clean the motor, do I remove the seat?

yes, uncover as much of the engine as you can ( or feel comfortable doing). Wipe it down, paying more attention to the area where you see most oil. Leave the seat off, and start the motor on the center stand. Watch carefully and rev the engine a few times. Look all around and pay attention to the hoses.shut it down and inspect it thouroughly. You should find the source ;D Jack

I just watched a video on how to adjust a valve cover. Now I'm thinking I may be in over my head!! it is possible the vacuum line is disconnected (or the line is split) and you won't need to remove the valve cover to fix the oil leak. you may need to remove the valve cover to replace the gasket but that is easy too. also might have a crack in the valve cover so you won't need to adjust your valves to fix the leak.
