I have a Kanuni Merlin, which is an exact copy of Jonway Explorer.
I believe the code for that scooter is YY150T-8.
The scooter has a GY6-B engine, and 16" wheels.
I searched high and low for taller gears ("built" engine, need a bit more top end speed) but can't find the right gears.
Would anyone have any ideas to guide me in the right direction please?

Good luck , i'm looking myself . Have you opened it up and taken measurements or counts ?

I have the Xingyue ITA 150 with the GY6-B and 16" wheels. So far I've found nearly nothing for performance.
I haven't looked at changing the rear gears, I'd like to have a little more hp to start with.

You guy can also try sellers that sell TAIDA parts. since their big bore engine is a B case. But those parts are expensive.

how is it different? From what i know. the B cases are 57mm engine stud spacing and regular cases are 54mm Stud Spacing. That is as far as i know lol |

Geeeeze - I never heard of Taida, but now I have results. Even DROWsports is fairly new to me, but there is a 63mm BBK for only $120.

Between the head studs. The normal GY6 is 54mm center to center while the GY6B is 57mm center to center.
From what I understand, same piston, different jugs

Changing rollers, tire size, wheel size, variator could help you along for minor improvements.
Bbk is also an option. Gear changes is less common, but I hope someone can help you out.

Drowsports is amazing. i have bought parts from them before and shipping is usually quick. prices are a bit high on some stuff tho. |

trying to learn The "B" motor is in a class all by itself. Besides the difference in stud spacing, the head is different and the valve cover bolts are in the center of the valve cover instead of around the outside. Also "B" motor scooters have a 16 inch rear wheel. If I remember correctly it has a long CVT belt also. Not many places carry parts for the "B" motor. After searching and checking with other shops, John at Valley was able to help me. They sell some "B" motor scooters, hence they have parts. Jim/Owner Rapid Repair |
