I have a Jonway 2T scoot and was wondering if I could go from a 16mm carb. to a 19mm Carb.? It has a stock exaust pipe on it also. Engine Model is a 1E40QMB Minarelli Jog type. Brand of Carb. thats on it now is a TK. I've been having a lot of trouble with this brand of Carb. Would appreciate any answers.

I wouldn't increase the carb size without doing some major modifications. Bigger pipe, piston, changing the air filter etc

If i was you i would get a good aftermarket carb your not going to gain much if any more power but will rev better and have better throttle response from my own experience in tuning 50-90cc 2t would not go bigger then 19mm and may even loose some mpg all depends the setup here is a link to some carb upgrades and results this write up is for a 90cc (Same motor but bigger bore and stroke) but has a lot of good info on different carbs and other in

anywhere from 74-79 main should be good on STOCK SCOOTER AND AIR BOX and your 40 secondary should be fine try adjusting your air fuel mixture screw

I have my air mixture screw turned in pretty far now, does anyone know how I could find a 42 pilot jet? My main jet no. is 11/22 if that helps any? Been buying my jets from Power Barn also,it's not too bad of place for carb. parts.

Yeah go up and try the 80 jettting isnt a set standard many things effect it, it takes a lot of trail and error.when adjusting your air fuel screw are you setting it to the highest idle and is it by the inlet where the air box connect or on the rear, if near the inlet, screwing the screw in lets less air in and screwing out more air, if on the other end screwing it in lets less fuel in and out more.

Not trying to get off the topic of carbs but how do you know if you have a bad reed valve? The carb. is not responding to any adjustments. I've tried everything to fix my carb. issue, even a different carb. this scoot is just getting too hot. Lots of overheating, wet pipe and dry pipe. I'm about ready to throw the towel in. Would putting one of those new blue racing CDI's help me? Also using Bel-Ray semi syn. scooter oil. Also my 45 pilot jet seems to work a lot better than that 40 pilot jet. I'm totally confused. Need some help pretty bad. Thanks to anyone who can help me.

you will need to take the intake off to inspect the reeds to make sure they are ok but have checked for air leaks might explain why you cant get it jetted right and running hot

Sorry guys, wrong answer. The place I bought my new 2T from put the wrong size carb. on my scoot. It is suppose to have 19mm carb. on it. 16mm is more or less for a 46cc engine. We all make mistakes! The best carbs. are Delordo, High Grade and High Dollar.Measure your intake from center of carb. to get the right MM. ;D
