I'm thinking about getting back into it to raise money. I've done a few flips. a 1992 reef blue mustang, sold to a guy who couldn't use his legs.. had to put a mechanism in the car to drive it, pretty cool 1975 MG midget after I kept it for a while and rebuilt the engine w a friend (great learning) 1975 914 porsche that I actually lost money on cause I was ripped off on ebay (never again on ebay) Never gone to any auctions to find cars, maybe I'll do that..

I don't flip them.... They are really too heavy and makes such a mess... But I do like watching Gas Monkey Garage flip them.... One of my favorite shows lately...

nope, not me. i've talked with a few people on another forum that do it for a living. they scrap many, part out some and fix up a few to resell. i would friggin <3 to get into that business! really need to get a flatbed truck so you can easily transport any vehicle. also would help if you had a large yard where you could park numerous vehicles.

Yeah, I don't have any room to work on them, but if you know what your getting and what you can sell it for BEFORE you even buy, then you can flip it relatively quick and wout much work. If you do too many flips you need to get a permit or something to run a small business, but if you are only doing it sometime then its cool. I never did it enough to do anything other than buy and sell. I used to know fox mustangs.. and other mustangs, and what they go for, but not sure anymore, but would love to flip a few cars, just don't have the money to buy right now.

I buy cars at the insurance auction about once a month, most just go for parts, some are worth to fix, retitle, and sell, although mostly those are like 10 yr old or newer. In NC to sell more than 7 cars a year you need a dealer's license, so I try to brush just up against that number every year ;D No limit to what you can buy, part out, and send to the scrapyard though!!!

And you don't need a driver's license to have them sit in your driveway

And you don't need a driver's license to have them sit in your driveway No you don't but some home associations have a problem with it.. Ive even seen them say you can't park the car's in the grass on your front lawn, so a buddy of mine jacked up the car and put it on blocks, tires were not touching the grass.. The Home owners association didn't share his sense of humor, and had a removal order issued, delivered by the Police....
