Ok...2 years ago while working as a mechanic in a Scooter shop...we had a 2008 Jonway Hornet 2T. The owner had disassembled it to use for parts. Not 1 mile had ever been put on the Scoot. looking over the pile of parts..all that was missing were the headlight bulbs...Voltage Regular..Speedometer...Stator and front turn signals. Very few 2T's in our area so it just sat there. I asked to buy it as is..and he said ok..how 'bout $400.00..well $300.00 cause you covered the shop a whole day while we were at the Beach Fest. I took it. Browsing through our warehouse one day I saw 4 Jonway Rally 2T's in various arrays of disassembley...and pulled the parts I needed from them.I asked him how much...he said 25 bux for all.Took them too and the MCO home. Built a real screamer out of it 2 days.Rode it 2 years then traded it for a 2012 Peace Sports B09 that had a 100 BBK and lots of other performance parts.Mint condition but kinda a slug due to it too high gearing.Swapped the clutch and Contra springs and it came to life.Rode it to visit my ex boss/best bud who told me was looking for a B09 for customer with a 6' 4" 16 yo that was not comfy on the smaller scoots...needed one of the 150 size 50's. So he told me had a 2T he would swap so he could sell the kid the bigger Scoot and make a lil profit. Ok here's the part where I get screwed...he opens the shop..wheels out an Adly 'Thunder 50'...with only 477 miles on it...MINT condition...techingas pipe sounded sweet! I said yer joking right? He said nope...now with our second baby I have to drive an SUV wit 2 cars seats everywhere. Test ride...0-20 is ok...then it comes up on the pipe and you are only 15 seconds or so from 56mph. So I did the swap and what ya see in the pics is what I got stuck with....lol..... Attachments:

Duddddeeee that scooter is sweet!!! 2T all the way!!! Sounds like a real beast. So basically you got to ride a practically new 2T for 2 years for free and got the Aldy for $300?? That is exactly how it panned out. I rode the Jonway Hornet 2 years..guy had a 2012 Peace Sports B09 with 100 BKK and loads of other performance parts. Kept asking me to trade cause he liked 2T's and ride mine. He was blown away by the take off and speed...again bugging me to trade. So I did..an old scoot for a brand new one..hmm sure deal. Built many fast 139QMB powered scoots..so figured I would do the same with that one. Rode it Jerry's business and a 16 yo kid saw it and said."See something like that is what I want, a taller Scooter, these others are too tiny" Kid was 6' 4" at 16! I said take it for a ride...and he came back happy. Long story short..Jerry took me aside and not wanting to lose a customer from a family he gets lots of business for he traded me the Adly and sold the Peace Sports to the. So we all came out happy. @larry..I have my fingers crossed bud...hoping the same stroke of 'bad luck' comes your way... ;D Hey hope Fawkes is coming along well. That build of yours was a HUGE inspiration to many newbies and old timers here..

carasdad... Thank you, In all honestly I will be building Fawkes back into a stroker, guess I was spoiled. I'm not happy with his performance as an 83cc even with all the other performance mods on him, it just don't come close to as he was before.. But this time because of the other engine I have, I can take my time and do it right...

Well.. a tear down to check things out. D@mn thing is like the Retro Scoots...where ya gotta take of ALL the body plastic to get to the engine. Even then it's cramped quarters with all the frame bracing welded on this thing. Only thing diff from other Minarelli engines I saw was..the cdi was a 4 wire 2 plug connector similar to a GY6 CDI. CDI itself is marked 'advancing angle' with a bunch of numbers below that. The carb is not 18mm like my Jonway Hornet Minarelli was...it is a 20mm Arreche. The oik pump is a Mikuni. There is a sticker under the seat bucket that says 20mm pilot jet..82 main jet. 82 seems too large to me as most 50cc 2T's have a #68-#74...but hey it works and works well. Measured the cylinder 3 times at 3 different angles and got 39.96-39.98. Then I measured the stroke a few times and got 39.18-39.12 that is only 6/100's of a mm difference. So it meets the specs of a stock 50 stroke which is 39.2 and the bore meets the specs for a stock 50 bore. So what we have here is a 55mph stock 50cc Scoot..bizarre. ryan on here rode along with me and can verify how fast it is. Down side of things is when he was here..we looked at the roller weights..and with only 501 miles on the Scoot they were warn with SEVERE flat spots. Must have come with cheapies to save them 75 cents? Anyway..my findings.. the 20mm Arreche carb and true advancing angle CDI(checked with a timing light) those 2 things CANNOT possibly be why it is so quick. But everything checks as stock....stock...stock..Minarelli. Regardless..currently looking for suggestions for a good quality high performing BBK. Please give me links and input as I Googled so many I got a headache..and few gave any real info or specs. Just "47mm bore, turn your 50 into a powerful 72"...and other useless info like that. Was the exhaust port D shaped. Possible a after market 49cc jug. Nice score.
