Richard, not sure what would happen in a used belt was put on backward. They usually put a directional arrow on them much like new scoot tires have a directional arrow, it must have something to do with the way the belts are wound. If you have 15000 miles on the orig belt you may really want to consider a new one. There is a lot of heat inside the case and you know what age and heat does to a belt. not real sure on the hiccup, its funny its stong to 60 or so and worse down hill not under a load. On more or less coasting down a hill with little or now throttle the variator will release most of the tension and on mine it gives me less than a smoothe coast as I can feel the belt trying to catch but can until the rpms start back up. You may have just a little bug in carb yet on high side. when u cleaned the carb were you able to get all the little holes on the engine side of the throttle plate clean where carb cleaner would blow it with compressed air? Can you get it to idle smoothe with the a/f screw? Barnie

Hi Barnie, Well I tried something different going home from work, when it started to jerk or hiccup, instead of backing off throttle I held it steady and the RPM'S just kept climbing what in the world is going on BTW when I cleaned carb, yes got all the little holes in the jets and sprayed through the carb holes. But today's ride hole may give us another clue

Richard, did the hiccup go away at that point and how much did the rpm go up and did you speed increase and everything seem to smooth out. About what speed did that problem show up at..Barnie

Barnie, it seem to go away as a held the throttle steady for a few second, then I could continue to increase on the throttle to get the higher speeds I wanted It was almost like having a clogged drain open up (it was weird) The rest of the way home (which was about 8 miles) not hiccup ;D Will see how it acts tomorrow I made the a/f adjustment last night, maybe it took the scoot a little while to adjust to the new settings

Richard, you may have a just a left over pc of junk in the fuel system that had to pass thru after you got everything running and back together. Be sure and try some Seafoam when u get a chance and I think I would just see how it does for couple days. I think i would consider a new belt tho. Let us know how she runs today. Barnie
