[replyingto=millsc]millsc[/replyingto]I think you've got to be right, Chris. No matter what Jet size I choose, , 92, or the tip is still white. However, the base color is changing. First it was white, then whitish light brown, now it's coffee colored. I just did another plug chop with a few more miles than before. Here's the pic:

I got a 118 main in my 150 and the plug is still pretty white,,but its only a stock motor with 24mm carb,,so it has to be fine,,it runs perfect,,no backfire on decel,,the stainless header is not bluing,,and it takes the fuel so nice all the way through the band.Im gonna just leave it alone even though some may say the jet is too big,,by the color of the plug I don't trust running anything lower...so pretty much go with how it runs,,i do believe the performance coil burns hotter and causes a whiter condition also.

[replyingto=jerseyboy]jerseyboy[/replyingto]58mph is faster than I ever thought I would go on this scooter. I think I'll stick with the # if what you say is right, Tom. I'm getting no popping, backfiring, anything of the sort. The exhaust doesn't sound hollow, nor high pitched (or whatever it sounds like when it's too lean), and I'm getting the best acceleration I've ever got before. My cruising speed is about 40mph which is fine by me. ;D # and it was obvious it was running too lean (until I put a sock over it), #92 and it seemed "better", but still not the greatest as I still got the slightest occasional popping sound. # and all systems go!

[replyingto=millsc]millsc[/replyingto]How is your other scooter with a ? I'm bewildered by the fact that jets are different depending on the scooter...

Just run that sucker now. If you have no symptoms of leanness run it and forget the plug

I have two identical scoots but im running a different carb ones 20mm 40 filter side other 19mm 38 filter side so they use different jetting, different size carbs use different jets

[replyingto=millsc]millsc[/replyingto]Exactly why I'm confuzled. How come a smaller carb requires a larger jet? This is fascinating to say the least.

It could be the brand or anything else but the smaller carb needed a my 20mm runtong carb would be ok with a jet may just buy another 20mm saves gas

It has to do a lot with exactly how the engine was broken in.

Or not broken in... I'll be specific it has to do with how the valves and rings are seated. Better? This rarely happens in an identical fashion...
