I just recently replaced everything in the belt area except for clutch. I have noticed though that when I wiped an area clean the day before yesterday, it was already black again by the end of yesterday. Doesn't that seem excessive? Belt looks good, but I doubt it will last at this powder-producing rate.

So you run a clutch over and if it is just a light layer of dust that's just normal wear

I don't know; I have a cover over the entire variator area; that what you're talking about?

In 1.1k miles my gates power link leaves very little dust residue. I'm not sure why yours would be producing so much...

If it is one of the cheap belts they do wear pretty fast, also if you have a stronger contra spring on the Clutch pulley that will also cause excessive wear. Alleyoop
