Just put a performance CDI on my 150 from Progress Racing and it idle's good,,but a little ruff once in a while,,almost like its missing,,but when I ride or goose it runs perfect,,anybody ever have this issue after CDI change? Here is the CDI Im using...states it wont change timing at idle...also the motor starts fine. www.ebay.com/itm/181142603997?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 Thanks Tom

[replyingto=geh3333]geh3333[/replyingto]Right around 19 to 2k... Ok,,I though it was not supposed to advance until RPM are up,,maybe My idle is too high?

Thats actually what mine idles at. You may want to do some air fuel adjusting and see if that helps. It can sometimes be a pain to get it just right. I have an advanced timimg cdi not the same but other then the writing it looks the same. My cdi chanhed my idle rpms to anywhere from 1900 to 2100 rpms

[replyingto=geh3333]geh3333[/replyingto]Ok,,so its normal to see a change in idle,,just wasnt sure,,i will play with air/fuel a little. Now when i adjust air fuel I turn the screw(needle) in CW until motor starts to die,,then I back it out to the point here RPM wont climb anymore then crack it CW a hair right??
Thanks Tom

To be honest im not sure if its normal for these cdi's to raise the idle rpms only because i havent heard anyone mention it before but it looks as if it may be the case with some that actually advance the timing and not just claim to. I usually turn my throttle screw forwar a bit .ill have it idle around 21 to 2200 rpms then o will turn the air fuel clockwise until the rpms start to go down then i will count how many turns it takes counter clw untol the rpms start to die again. I usually then turn back clockwise until the rpms are at there highest after that ill see how far i can lower the throttle screw amd still have a good solid idle. Of course it dosent matter wich way you turn the air fuel screw as long as you get your highest rpms. Hope u understand this.?

[replyingto=geh3333]geh3333[/replyingto]Ok,,yes..last time i adjusted the air/fuel screw,,I noticed I could almost back the screw ALL the way out and it wouldn't die,,only dies when turned CW,, that's why I just back it out until the rpm wont go any higher than see how it takes the fuel.Ill go out and play with it and let ya know.I have not messed with the screw since the cdi and hoca coil mod. Thanks for chiming in here.

[replyingto=jerseyboy]jerseyboy[/replyingto]Went out and messed with it a little,,after I took it for a ride I came back and it was idling fast close to 3k,,so I adjusted the A/F screw for highest idle,,then readjusted idle for 1900,,now its running alot smoother,,it is raining here and when I got on it,,the back tire broke loose a little..lol..cant wait for my exhaust and POD next.
