So, after the past 3 or 4 years, my 54b and I have had a bittersweet relationship. Last fall, we had a bit of a falling out, as I wanted her to go when I gave her some gas, but she, well didn't. So, I decided, this summer, I would start getting her back into riding shape.
Here is a short list of all the work she needs: - rear brake has leak - Needs some plastics repair after a couple of drops - Both brake levers have broken tail light switches - revs, but freewheels (possibly related: long term rear wheel wobble) - At 4700 miles, at or overdue for all checkups - Needs ignition switch, as key was broken off. (related: needs seat lock replaced) - Needs rear tire and valve - Needs new battery and cables

Did you check to see that your belt was still "buckled" If it revs but doesn't go your belt is likely gone take off the CVT cover and have a look. I would start there the rest won't matter so much if it can't move...

DX It is a good idea to clean and re-grease clutch and variator (check those roller weights) ;D I have the MC-54-250B 15,000+ and still going strong (of course with much maintenance)

The belt was my prime suspect as well, but imagine my surprise when the casing came off and the belt was still in tact and looking good for 4700 miles.
Everything turned as normal, so I pulled the swing arm (in the process, breaking a socket wrench, an adapter, and rounding two bolt heads holding the break caliper to the arm) and the wheel off.
It appears that the splines inside of the wheel are stripped. I'll attempt to upload some photos when I get back to the house.

wow that sucks. something must not have been tight! Long term wheel wobble so yea it probably was not tight or was the wrong spline for the axel. May need a new rim and output shaft for the gearbox.
