right guys this dont bother me...but just woundering why the does my bike smell of fuel...there is NO LEAKS ive checked its when its been sitting for a while the plug is wet but not major so my guess its rich??? the smell does go away after a few mins of riding just hoping someone can shed some light on this  |

My stepsons xyqt50 smells like gas all the time too, he has to keep his outside the garage it smells so bad, ive wondered the same thing.

Could be the gas tank is venting the fumes, or a leaking vacuum hose from the petcock or a leaking by a hose and just running down the hose and no dripping.

my scoot, Chrissy, always smells like gas also.& shes a 4t 150cc
i keep her in a tent garage and every time i opened it
POW smell gas. at 1st i replaced every fuel line, made sure they were tight etc. from the tank to the filter to carb, i checked everything.
never did find it. Actually i think theres a long thread on
thescooterprofessor.proboards.com/index.cgi
i stopped worrying about it after awhile. Except, when i would take my kids out for play time, Piggers would always go in the tent and sit on my seat.{ which he destroyed} and i always had to remind myself, to open the tent so the smell wouldnt effect him.
But never found that leak in 2 1/2 yrs

On my 150, I had the venting hose from the fuel tank break. Every time I took gasoline, the tank would overflow, and gasoline would hit the exhaust pipe.
Smelled like rich! Dirty rich! Stinking rich!
When I figured it out, and fixed the hose, the problem was solved.
On my ATM, sometimes it smells rich too when starting.
I've been thinking, perhaps their idle is rich, and their top is lean (large pilot jet, small main jet).

cheers just to say all the hoses are new replaced them a week ago and as i stated im not bothered by it but when ive got time ill strip it and have a real good look CHEERS GUYS & GIRLS |
