i have always been a "news junkie" always watch local & national news
when i did work, i used to DVR the local news, in case i was gonna miss it.
has anyone noticed that the numbers of cars flipping has increased ?
i mean jeez, now adays i see it on every news cast, whereas just 5 years ago, didnt hear about it to much.
or am i imagining this?

you mean, in an accident it rolls over rather than sliding?

This may sound strange but I wonder if it has to do with the broad increase of people on average that have ABS. I would think brake lock ups would promote sliding vs. flipping. No?

I think it has to do with the increase of stupidity and the inability to drive. What do I know though it could just be top heavy SUV's

What I believe causes anything to flip is the speed they are traveling at and all of a sudden they have to swerve to avoid something. The object and weight still wants to go forward but you want to go left or right and something has to give and it flips over. my .02 Alleyoop

I think it has to do with many vehicles being high-profile. Used to be that cars sat close to ground, but SUVs sit a lot higher and are easier to roll.

To answer your question, No It is not happening around here we all know how to drive.

Not here neither, where we don't know how to drive, however, this is true: Most modern (esp. budget) cars have a higher profile (for more comfy sitting in the car, and less head injury in frontal accidents), and are less wide (for better aerodynamics, and better fuel mileage).
Especially the japanese / Korean models, but lately also the US models. Look for instance at the Chevy Spark, and the Chevy Sonic. Both come with a way narrower wheelbase compared to the Impala or the Cruze, yet are about just as high.

Yes people have gotten stupid and try to be on Facebook while driving or on dope . Have you seen the movie " Idiocracy " ? If so that is how I see most people by the way they act and do

Not here-- nothing out of the ordinary. With it being winter, and we get a solid amount of snow in northern Indiana--- people here ALWAYS either seem to forget how to drive in icy/wintery weather, or are inexperienced in it. All it takes is a split second, and even the best driver can get into an accident---even if it's not their fault.
