How do folks .. I'm here to pick your brains 
Here's the low down .. 2 weeks ago the scooter went ka-put and it died on my way home .. so I empty the oil to start taking it down and several ball bearings came out with the oil .. after trying to fight the variator nut and then not being able to pull the gear behind it with tools I had .. I broke down and just bought another engine .. got it installed and now the lights are dim as can be .. the motor starts instantly and sounds so much better than the last one ever did (I think the crank bearing was improperly installed from the factory as it ticked from day one on the old motor)
Just curious what the odds are that when the motor blew that it ruined the R/R? or if this new stater isn't compatable or good ?
