I got this for free and it has no spark. When I got it. it ran fine and every now and again it would not start. well now it has no spark.
my question is if its not the coil what else could it be.

Could be the CDI or the pickup coil in the stator.

howdy, and welcome to the forum. have you checked some of the simpler things like the emergency shut off on the handlebar or the side stand switch or bad fuse that might look ok but is intermittant inside or ignition switch wires on the back side or-----

If it's a DC CDI, weak or bad battery=no spark.

Pretty sure the CH250 has an AC fired CDI.

well I had the coil tested today and that checked out good.
I put it back on and it started right up. drove it about 5 miles and parked back at the house
went out side about 30 min later and tried to start it and it would not. Took a wooded screwdriver handle and hit the CDI and then tried starting it again and this time it fired up.
so where is a good place to get a good used CDI or a used one.

Not sure where to get a good used one, but the Honda Helix(CN250) uses virtually the same motor, and they were on the market way longer than the Elite. There's a Yahoo site dedicated to the Elite 250, lots of good info there. launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/CH250HondaElite/ |

Take a picture of your CDI and the wires plugged into it to make sure you get the right one.

when I add it to the cart it shows up as this "SSR-125 pit bike CDI" guess im going to have to call them |

QUESTION
my CDI BOX has a 2 wire clip and a 6 wire clip. I was sent a 2 wire and a 4 wire. they dont fit duh.. my question is every CDI box i've looked at had a 2 and 4 wire why does mine have a 6 and 2
