[replyingto=dragonsparks]dragonsparks[/replyingto] I've always hated Rick Perry. My opinion is expressed at 10:15 to the end of the video. Do you know how hard it was being one of the only kids in highschool not celebrating christmas? They had a christmas tree in the lounge, which was against the rules, and everyone hated on me and the little group of atheists and it was reinforced through the school. Now it's reinforced on a state level?! Ugh, I'm never going to Texas again!

It is religious freedom. Explain why no one raises a stink when some schools allow prayer time for their muslim students, but punish children for wearing anything or breathing a word regarding Christianity in school!?!? On the grand scheme of things, political correctness will KILL us. Sent from my LG-P769 using proboards

It is religious freedom. Explain why no one raises a stink when some schools allow prayer time for their muslim students, but punish children for wearing anything or breathing a word regarding Christianity in school!?!? On the grand scheme of things, political correctness will KILL us. Sent from my LG-P769 using proboards We don't have religious "freedom" in America. We have "freedom From religion", otherwise known as "Freedom Of Religion". Read up on your government. " Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances" It's not very Christian to "breathe a word of christianity" in school anyway... Matthew 6:6 "But when you pray, go away by yourself, shut the door behind you, and pray to your Father in private. Then your Father, who sees everything, will reward you." This new bill is not an act of "religious freedom", it is an act of religious exclusivity. I'd like to see a school put up menorahs and celebrate Hanukkuh; the whole conspiracy community would be in uproar that somehow the Jews are taking over! As INDIVIDUALS people are free to celebrate and express whatever they want, but when a public institution favors one religious celebration over another... Well that's just plain undemocratic. EDIT: I just know I'm gonna get banned for this post... Thanks a lot, Dave!

Dave you politely asked about this thread and the rules, interesting subject and I'm sure lots of different opinions are available but I see problem written all over this so I'm going to also politely lock it.
