Well, thanks to dom' and our local reviewer Shaun Edwards, I'm skipping Lone Ranger in the theatres. It's a lot easier to do this since I've discovered the library carries dvds. Haven't decided yet about Desp2.
Re: knives and sharp pointy things. I have a cat knife (has a leaping panther engraved on the handle), a real pretty iridescenty "pocket" knife (pocket in quotes 'cause it's really kind of big for a pocket--but not for a purse!), and a tiny little Swiss knife. Then there's my medium-sized samurai sword (Hank would've known what it's called--not a katana, the one that's 2 1/2 feet long), a "zombie sticker" I just got at the Con, and a prop sword that's 3 feet long but has some of the middle of the blade removed so it's still light enough for a girlie-girl to wield one-handed. Plus a wood katana practice sword.

I went to see the lone ranger today. I was really unhappy with the first half of the movie, the secound half was better. I do not think Clayton Moore would like it.

If I remember right, Doug, Clayton Moore didn't care greatly for the last movie, either. Of course, they also banned him from wearing the mask because of it, so that could've contributed. Beyond stupid, that.
I really miss actors like Clayton Moore and William Boyd, guys who lived their off-screen lives as decently as their on-screen characters.
And with Doug's critique, I'm definitely waiting for the dvd. Really doesn't sound like it needs the big screen, or merits $10 on it.

Huh. That's funny dom', 'cause my friend saw it and said too long and bad. Although the girl was really hot, apparently.

Forgot to update this little thread. I have seen two new movies I believe. R.I.P.D. and The Conjuring. RIPD was not really worth seeing in theatres whereas The Conjuring was totally worth it, if just for the fright and scare affect. I beleive the next movie will be The Wolverine. Realllyyy lookin forward to this one. Hope its not a let -down. Hope I understand the plot. I never got into Wolverine as a story but as a character I really dig him and I know bits and pieces of his origin and story. Guess we'll see! Should be Saturday night with Pops at the movies again!! ;D www.thewolverinemovie.com/ <<Check this out, a great site for the movie

Saw another great flick
This is totally worth $10
The way its filmed make it more like a film and less like a movie, kind of independant like, and maybe it is!
It follows the life of a young man that has challenges in an urban setting. He starts off as a unfaithful drug dealer and ends up with the greatest intentions and hopes for him , his girlfriend, and his daughter of 9 years old.
Fruitvale Station
I liked it a lot.
I should be going to see The Wolverine tonight with Dad. Will update ya

I enjoyed watching the Wolverine this weekend. I expect the critics were all against it though. But I liked it. Heck I liked watching The Lone Ranger movie that was out even though it didn't do so well in the theaters it seems. I think the movie companies put all their expensive blockbuster movies out too close to each other. They should have spread them out more and try for those times of the year when the movies at the theaters aren't as exciting. It looks like with all of the big expensive movies that didn't do well this year means we'll have a huge dry spell next year maybe even two years.

Saw The Wolverine twice! Dad liked it. There are a lot of layers to the story. I still don't understand it all but love to chat about it.
