I'm sure most have noticed the standard smiley faces on the reply window have been changed and the what is called the extra smiley widow that you can click on and use the ones that are in there.
Myself I've always liked smileys and love the ones that move or what some call emotocons. There are so many out there that it is mind boggling!
In the reply window the smileys go from left to right as Smiley and end with cry. These are called the default settings and I cannot change them but Proboards does allow you to change the smiley itself to whatever you want. When I started changing the ones in the reply window I looked for ones that fit the default settings or close to them as you can see. The only one I haven't changed because I haven't found one about the same size is roll eyes.
I tried to keep them all close to the default settings size so they wouldn't run to far out to the right and disappear.
I have checked and so far it appears I cannot change the quick reply smileys as they are set on the system as a default setting and cannot be changed. I am looking in the Proboards code database to see if there is a code that will allow me to change them and have also asked the code support people to look into making a code.
I hope all of you like the changes, it adds a little fun to me and for sure that's what we need a lot of right now.
You can also see I found a code that allows for what is called a extra smiley window and allows you to pick any smiley in the window box selection.
Now here is where the title of my thread kicks in. I wanted to ask members here to join in on the smiley search and what is in the window. Basically I chose ones that I thought would have an application on a scooter forum like smileys riding a scooter to lots of humorous ones as well. But I also added others that have a different meaning too but not offensive like:
At this point I have 29 extra smileys in the extra smiley window or vault. How many can I put in? I'm not sure?
It's possible that as many as we want and when the pop up window appears when you click on it one can just scroll down the page to look at them all or when I put so many in they will not appear if the window is too full? It's just something I'll have to see as we go along.
At this point I've got 3 in the extra smiley window that match 3 of the reply window and for sure I'll change them, no use in having the same smiley twice.
So here's what I'm proposing to all who want to have a favorite smiley added to the collection and even say if you don't want one that I already have there also.
Post here some of the smileys you like and I'll see about putting them in but as always there are a few rules to go by, some as set here by the forum administration and some by the host site Proboards themselves.
(1) Any possible smileys you want to see used here must and will only be used with the permission to use them a Proboards rule. One can go google any smiley and it may come up even with a code as a single smiley and the source may not be known and you would have no way of knowing if you have permission to use it or not?
I clarified this rule with Proboards and asked about sites that offered "free" smiley and sent them this link to look at to give me an answer:
www.pic4ever.com/index-6.php
There are numerous sites like this and Proobards told me that sites like this were fine because they offer free for anyone to use and one would have permission to use them. So the word "free" will probably mean all is fine.
(2) All smileys will be considered and when you find one of the ones you would like to see added send post the site and the link to the smiley, don't just post a link to a site and say fire breathing smiley on page 6. Most sites have a code that I use to put in this forums system that is a simple url code and some even give you a direct forum link to post the smiley here on the forum like this:
The url is also listed for this smiley and it's on the same page and is this:
www.pic4ever.com/images/tantrumsmiley.gif
To put these in I must have the url code and with the link to the location of your desired smiley and where to find it I'll get what I need to put it in.
Do not send HTML codes they do not work on this forum.
(3) Do not send any offensive smileys. Offensive means profanity, adult, racist, or what might be considered insulting to ones beliefs with letters like or OMG (no offense meant) or even what might be considered rude like Shut up. You all get the picture, they will not be considered.
Sign smileys are welcome but again need to follow the rules.
(4) I would like to also ask that you don't try to use smileys that are too large and take up lots of space and when asking for a sign smiley the smaller ones like some in the extra smiley window now work great like this:
Got questions about a possible smiley then ask them here and we'll figure out if it'll work or not.
So if you want to put in your favorite then get them coming and we'll see how this goes.
