I want to get people's suggestions for an Aftermarket Air-Filter, aka "freeflow filter" or "performance air filter"
I have a 150cc gy6 scooter with a small-frame. It is a Lance Venice, aka BMS Romans, Roketa Sicily, and SSR Metro.
It has a short-case engine, and they have that typical tight spot between the carburetor and stock air-filter box-and-hose-assembly, along with a suspension cross-member running across it.
I'm looking for suggestions on ready-to-fit air filter, whether it's straight or angled.
I'm also looking for suggestions on using universal air filter, even if I have to fabricate small parts using Home-Depot sourced ABS piping and coupling.
Thanks.
that has one of those 10in

Same setup i came up with , but i used a red unifilter i think it is for a kawasaki dont remember but it is about 4 in in diameter and about 5 in long. And has a metal cage support in the center. Works great.

Folks, thanks for the insight. I think I settled for the following setup: 1. Cheap 4 main-jet set from China for just under $9 @ EBay: 105, 110, 115, 120, or something like that 2. Uni-Filter: 42mm x 102mm long (4in long), dual layer, the red-one --> gives me the choice to remove the red-sleeve if needed. 15deg angled, $16. @ Amazon www.amazon.com/Uni-2-Stage-Filter-Length-UP4182AST/dp/B000WJIX6W3. Home-Depot PVC 1-1/4" x 10ft Schedule 40. Only need 2inches, but what the heck, $4.39 for 10-ft. OD comes to 1.66in=42mm exactly www.homedepot.com/p/1-1-4-in-x-10-ft-PVC-Sch-40-DWV-Plain-End-Drain-Pipe-1586/100147742#.Ua2ZldhH6jwThe PVC 1-1/4" 4. Home Depot 1-1/4" to 1-1/4" coupling. 2.25" long. $5.50. www.homedepot.com/p/Fernco-1-1-4-in-x-1-1-4-in-Flexible-PVC-Coupling-P1056-125/100055392#.Ua2ZndhH6jwSo it will be: 1. Stock Carburator PD24 (stock 24mm 150cc GY6 Carb) 2. 150cc GY6 4-unit main-jet kit $9 2. Home-Depot 1-1/4" to 1-1/4" coupling @ 2.25" long $4.39 3. Home-Depot 1-1/4" PVC Piple, only 2-3" long $5.50 4. UNI Filter 44mm x 105mm long (or 4.133") $16. Total Materials: $35.77

I wouldn't put a PVC pipe on my engine. PVC is a type of vinyl, and I would be scared it would get too soft and even melt from the heat.
At the auto parts store, they have little 2-3" long metal pipe of different diameters, used for exhaust, that won't melt. Then use sections of rubber hose, from the auto parts store, and hose clamps.
