I was looking at different CDI upgrades and saw they have AC or DC CDI boxes,,what is the best for a gy6 150cc and what is the difference of the two,,i know AC is a waveform that alternates between positive and negative,,and DC is just a smooth straight current.
Thanks Tom

You have to match the cdi that you currently have otherwise it will just break.
AC is the most common and it often has a 4pin and 2 pin, with two wires coming from the two pin connector. DC CDIs are supposed to be a lot bigger than the AC ones and they tend to have a 4pin and a 2pin with only one wire sticking out of it.
Be sure to check out what CDI you already have:

Easiest way to tell, and this is true for about 99% of the scooters... If your headlight comes on when you turn the key to power on everything, it's a DC. If your headlight comes on after you start the scooter, it's an AC. There are plenty of good AC CDI's out there, but the DC can be a little tricky. If it's a DC, get this one...
