Besides occasionally sanding off glazed clutch pads, I have never lubricated any part of a scooter clutch. I have never worn out or broken a clutch on the last 6 scooters I've owned. However, I have seen several references on this forum about lubricating the clutch. Upon a little research, I haven't found much information, and what I did find was conflicting.
Is there a standard procedure for lubricating the clutch, and if there is could someone explain it in detail?

My first engine had no signs of any grease on the clutch and/or shaft. Since then I've had 2 engines, and both had grease where the center of the clutch's inner shaft is.
I had no problems at all(with the grease) it never got on my pulley or belt, obviously you don't want to glob it on and/or get it anywhere on the pulley. It shouldn't need greased very often, IMO.
To me a "standard procedure" would be whenever I change the belt, clean the inside of the CVT, or etc----to take the clutch off and check the state of the grease. If it's all dirty and grimy then, remove it and apply new grease---only a little bit, and only in the center of the clutch shaft.

I agree with onewheeldrive . Anytime you have metal on metal, lubrication is recommended. metal on metal=heat To much heat is bad. Just My 2cent's

The clutches or Slider bearing assembles fail soon when there is a break in the o-rings that seal the grease in. Every one I've seen fail at 4000 miles had a broken o-ring. Take your's apart and study it, I mix grease with oil (makes a slurry) and use it. Also i shoot Fluid Film in there from the hole in the tube between tear downs. There's no reference to these that I found, It's all well to get in there and map it out. It's a good idea to buy a spare. This induces the original to last longer
