I know that there is a 200.00 rebate on the Zumas but what about further price reductions from dealers? Anyone have experience buying from one?

I had a 2007 Yamaha C3 which uses the same powertrain. Liquid-cooled 3 valve head, with very little tuning it will get close to 50cc 2-stroke performance. One of the most bulletproof scooters ever made period, 115 mpg riding the crap out of it. Replace the stock roller weights with 4.5 gram sliders and replace the small airbox snorkel with a larger tube. 42 - 43 mph all day long, peppy acceleration to 35 mph. Even though 2011 was the last year model of the C3 version, this forum c3riders.freeforums.org is still quite active and a great source of info for maintenance, repairs, mods and performance upgrades. If you have the cash offer MSRP minus the $200 rebate and stand firm. If you're financing maybe just the MSRP and let them have the rebate. A little pricey, but this scooter is worth every single penny and will last forever and have decent resale value.

Depends on the dealer however with the Yamaha most won't haggle much except to throw in an extra such as a basic helmet, top case or some free service coupons. You can try for an extra few hundred off by asking them to take an additional $500 off and then settle for them matching the rebate. The worst that can happen is that they may refuse to sell you the bike however most times all that will happen is that they will say no or make a counter offer.

Wonder how I can find out the dealer cost?
Ive been thinking about it for awhile and that might just help with the skittishness.
