Ok thank you for that pamplet on how to tune the carb I've been tinkering all day but when I turn the air/fuel screw. Nothing happens left or right. And the rpms are jumpy.go from 2-1700-1000-1500-1000-1700-2000-1700.... And when I give it throttle it still wants to bog out When the idle jumps around like that it usually means you have an air leak somewhere and it is running too lean. Check the air filter housing for cracks. Check all air tube and carb mounting points for tightness.

Don't forget the intake manifold itself. Make sure it is on tight.
Yes exhaust leaks can cause problems too. The engine needs a certain amount of back pressure to be properly balanced. And a leaky exhaust can make the engine run hotter leading to a burnt exhaust valve.

Ok sweet! That was helpful. I believe that itsa clogged air passage. Where would I check for that? The carb? The intake box or hose?

Is your carb a CVK CARB OR A SLIDER type CARB(throttle cable goes into the top center of the carb)?
Why do you say you have a CLOGGED AIR PASSAGE? 1. Did you richen up the FUEL Ratio Screw(IF YOU HAVE A CVK TYPE CARB), by turning Fuel Ratio Screw COUNTER CLOCKWISE?
2. Did you richen up the AIR Ratio Screw(IF YOU HAVE A SLIDER TYPE CARB), by turning the Air Ratio Screw CLOCKWISE? Alleyoop

Armydog, You better read that thread again, you have a CVK carb NOT A SLIDER type carb.
But anyway if you turn the FUEL RATIO MIXTURE screw IN EITHER DIRECTION Does it change your IDLE? IF IT DOES NOT, then you have to clean out the PILOT JET AND ITS PASSAGE. Alleyoop
