Actually I guess "malware" was what I was thinking of. Dude a new belt for a Chinese scooter costs like $12. If you are going to throw away a scooter because of that, maybe you are the spyware.

[replyingto=biguns420]biguns420[/replyingto]Actually now day's more than ever, It's buyer beware.. It is the buyers responsibility to research anything they are considering purchasing... Just watch the commercials on tv, how many use terms like "May" or "Could Have", I'm referring to the life lock commercial.. They don't say "Would Have", they leave themselves a way out..
I'm reminded of an insurance commercial where they were talking about a water heater's safety valve failing and it blows a hole thru the roof. Now look up the statistics on how often that has happened.. You have a better chance of being struck by lighting twice in the same spot, and the cases it did happen, either the safety was left out, or was improperly installed, It's just someone using a scare tactic to get you to buy their service..
Yes Chinese scoots may have some problems with quality control, but a simple Google will reveal this.. And anybody taking a salesman's word at compete face value is just asking to be taken.. There is no truth in advertizing anymore it's up to the buyer to protect them selves.. It's like my old flight instructor said to me, I never forgot her words.. "It's your butt in the seat". Meaning I'm the one who is responsible.
Ohhh Kat I'm out of pizza I'm going to bring Chinese food this time to the corner LOL

C'mon guys, buy a Mac scooter, then you won't have to worry about it.... ++++++++++++ !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh yeah!!! You know, I do have to point out that people completely new to scooters with zero experience might not realise how cheap the Chinese bikes are. I was lucky in that I talked with my Harley friend when I decided to get a scooter. He advised me to stay away from Chinese as I've zero mechanic skills. Otherwise I wouldn't have known of the price diff and thus the quality diff. And I'm just old enough, I don't always think of checking on the 'net. But anybody who has any knowledge of bikes, you're right. The price diff alone should warn him the quality won't be the same. If he chooses to buy one anyways, then he has only himself to smack when it breaks down before he wants it too. And if anybody chooses to throw it out instead of fixing it, then that's something entirely different. That's the same mentality as "Oh, this chair leg fell out I won't glue it back in throw it out" "Oh, my car's tranny wore out, toss it for a new car" "Oh my house lost a shingle in the big storm last night throw it away and buy a new house". I despise the throw-away mentality. My folks raised me, see if it can't be fixed for a reasonable price first. (example--just got rid of our 40-year-old washer 'cause replacing the tranny was almost as much as a new, and it still would've leaked inside during the spin cycles--but we looked into fixing it first!) Hello naughty corner my old friend. lar, I think Chinese is esp appropriate! Here's some Black Forest torte for dessert. >'Kat

DX I totally agree with you spandi, I could have bought a helix instead of my Fashion I paid 950 for. which I have worked on in some way almost every day(Rain permitting) since April 12th & having a ball doing it.

Dave[/quote]Thanks! The other point is there is virtually no limit to the upgrades you can do over time and without having to strain the budget or be indebted to high credit rates.

I agree with both dragonsparks and spandi. My only point is one should take a little time and do some research as to whats best for them... Name brand or Chinese.
