So I stripped my header yesterday. And I figure if I'm gona replace it I might as well get a bbk whyle I'm at it. I don't have any clue about what needs to be added like larger cam or diffrent exaust, Or why. But I am very mechanicaly inclined. I also like to mechanicaly recline.... At any rate I'm comfortable with the bbk swap, and I figure if I go with the 47mm I won't have to change anything. If I go with 50mm I read I may need new cam and exaust. Also I don't want to get a korean pot metal , I want tiwanees/japan quality because I run wot % of the time. So any guideance to a good supplier is apreciated. I'm shooting for around $100. Thanks, Will

There's a couple of ways to go, it simply is a matter of how much power you want to make in what RPM range. Yes you can go the big cam but you really don't have to. There are a lot of small upgrades that will add to the overall power like the NKG plug and a aftermarket coil or a aftermarket variator.

Cool. I ordered the Airsal kit 50mm. A new head. "Uni" filter. Main jet # (...I'm a lil squirley about the jet size, I've seen all sizes recomended.) Feeler gagues. And a piston ring spreader. I'm excited about the swap. I kno ill learn a lot. Btw, victory parts needs to work on their customer relations a lil.

Ya the head I bought said "50cc 80cc" not much info other than that, but in the pic on ebay it is flanged in the combustion chamber. The others I looked at were not.
I have only seen one 20/23mm valve head, and that's with google search(none on ebay) I'm shure some listings are not stateing it.

A big head doesn't really add 5-10 does it? Just more torque right?

That is correct EJ132, with newly acquired low end torque you can now slap in some taller gearing and now that you have the power it will pull them.
All your doing is having the motor make more power but not top end speed like you want. With the power you can get up to speed a lot quicker. Alleyoop

No alleyoop, I was referring to what andrewrides1 said, about the big valve head adding 5-10mph, not adding gears later.

I know that EJ132, I was backing up your statement about the 5-10mph gain If it was that easy everyone would be doing it. People just do not know how a motor works they believe all the hype put this on and wow, take this off and wow, one guy even said take the mirrors off and gain 5mph. People just do not know how things work, all the motor is going to produce is more power and hold it for a longer period of time. But everyone forgets the cvt can only take you so far as well as the OEM gears. Which by the way are pretty well matched up to get decent take offs and descent top end for each particular scoot. I cannot wait to learn everything possable about what does what and why. This bbk is a huge leap in my mechanical understanding. Victory scooter parts said " if you have never done it, you should find someone who does and pay them to do it" because I asked the same question I did here. I said thanks for the tip and hung up. That's no way to sell anything. I would of atleast bought an air filter if he hadent been a....(ill refrain)...and just talked to me for 2min.
