Just wanted to report on my testing the taller rollers on my TRIKE.
The Variator on my Trike takes 18x14 size weights.
I got 19x14 size rollers and I finally decided to try them out today.
Here is what I found:
1. Due to the rollers being taller pushs the Variator out a little more which made the Belt sit up higher in the Variator. 2. Due to the belt now sitting higher I lost some UMP starting off. 3. I also lost 1000 rpms at the top end. 4. Do to loosing 1000 rpms at the top end I did not gain any more top end speed, actually I lost some It would only go around 62mph. 5. The only good thing I liked where the very lower rpms doing 30-50 6. Also the Trike now started to move at 2000 rpms instead of 2300-2500 rpms.
That is what I found and Due to the sluggish take offs I am taking the 19x14 rollers out and going back to the 18x14 size weights. Alleyoop

Sorry it didn't work out for ya. Worked well for my scoot...but these 2T's really rev up...and I have 1.5K clutch and Contra Springs. Along with my 13.5:1 gear ratio..which is why I am upgearing it to 11.5:1 Otherwise it really revs at cruising speed....which sucks the gas tank down quickly..wow..

Try some shims in the var. That would be defeating the whole purpose of the taller weights, shim it up to make the width wider so that the belt drops down and not pull on the Clutch Pulley. Beside now not enough of the splines on the Crank will protrude beyond the Boss so that the FAN FACE can grab. I was going to order DR. Pulley weights they apparently have 19.5x14 good thing I did not because it would have been worse. So boys and girls I was the science project on this and at least for a GY6 150 variator or 115mm Variator it does not work out so well. I mean you could live with it but not to my liking. Alleyoop

Not every upgrade or modification works for everyone or every Scoot. Just wanted to clarify that...cause I feel like I am being kicked in the @ss for bringing up the roller modification. Just got to say it did work for me. makayla and ryan52 on here are locals to me and they saw the improvement. But that is why when I mention an upgrade or modification..I add a disclaimer.

CARASDAD you dirty rotten pickle ;D You made me spend a whole 20.00 bucks And nobody is kicking you in the butt, what you brought up made a lot of sense but that little bit more for a heavy scoot hurts the take off. My trike weighs in at 350lbs plus my butt 180lbs that belt has to be low in the variator to get the weight moving. Maybe that is why it works with the 50s not to much weight to get moving off the line. Alleyoop Just kidding brow HEY how are we supposed to find out stuff if we do not try. It worked for the 50s but For the 150s with the 107 or 115 mm variator it works but not what with good results. Like I said I was the science project on this one and was hoping it would work. Getting little more out of the CVT if always a good thing if you can. Alleyoop

Alleyoop Agreed...even Nikola Tesla...had to touch the first Tesla coil to see if it worked. ;D I am not offended..just making sure folks know that not EVERYTHING that works for one will work for another. For as we know there are speculations here that get passed off as 100% factual. So Sir...I have to admire your trying...while it may work for lil 50cc riders and not the bigger 150's etc...you guys can still outrun us.. Glenn
